Kamikochi’s spiritual ambience makes it one of Nagano Prefecture’s top spots for hiking and mountaineering.
In the 2025 operating season, Myojinkan Kamikochi will reopen its doors starting April 26. This 420-year-old traditional inn is a must-visit.

Just a 45‑minute walk from Kamikōchi’s iconic Kappa‑bashi bridge, the inn nestles beneath the Hotaka Mountains and dramatic alpine scenery.
In May, vast swaths of Anemonopsis macrophylla (nirin‑sō) burst into bloom, and as early summer approaches, the forest is draped in fresh, light‑green foliage.
Even at the height of summer, the temperature peaks at only about 28 °C, so the air remains wonderfully pleasant.
A leisurely morning walk—especially from dawn until late morning—is highly recommended for soaking in the ever‑changing natural beauty.

Because the inn sits deep in the mountains, guests should arrive with a hiking backpack, rain gear, and spare clothes.
Separate men’s and women’s panoramic baths invite you to soak while gazing at the peaks. Every room has heating and a washlet toilet, and a daytime café serves light fare.
Whether you’re here to tackle the trails or simply unwind, Myojinkan is pure alpine serenity.
