The Apothecary Diaries Joins Forces with “Universal Cool Japan 2025”!
USJ’s annual event Universal Cool Japan has been a favorite among both domestic and international visitors since it began in 2015. Every year, it teams up with popular IPs to bring exclusive attractions and events.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Universal Cool Japan 2025 already created a buzz earlier this year with collaborations featuring Keigo Higashino’s Masquerade Hotel and Detective Conan.
Now, The Apothecary Diaries will be part of the second half of Universal Cool Japan 2025, offering fans an exciting new attraction based on the series.

What is The Apothecary Diaries?
The Apothecary Diaries is a highly popular anime based on a light novel series written by Natsu Hyuuga. It has sold over 40 million copies in Japan and received an anime adaptation last year.
The story follows Maomao, a young apothecary girl with a deep obsession with poisons and medicine, who gets caught up in palace intrigues and uses her skills to solve mysteries.
One incident catches the attention of the handsome eunuch Jinshi from the rear palace, who appoints her as a food taster.
Due to her unique status, boundless curiosity, thirst for knowledge, and a touch of justice, Maomao is drawn into various incidents and uses her intellect to solve them.
