Although many foreigners still think that there are samurai in Japan, the truth is, there are none. But anyone can become a samurai, even they don’t exist anymore!

Authentic Samurai Armor (Kachu)

This isn’t a plastic costume; at this studio, you will wear high-quality, handcrafted Kachu (armor) faithfully reproduced by master craftsmen. These sets are the same professional grade used in Japanese historical TV dramas and movies, often weighing up to 30kg.

The armor represents a samurai’s aesthetic and honor, designed to help them stand out on the battlefield. In 2026, the studio offers several unique sets based on famous warlords of the Sengoku period (Age of Warring States).

2026 Course Options

Two courses are available for a photo shoot at the Samurai Armor Photo Studio. In Samurai Armor Studio-Shooting Course, you will select your favorite from several kachu that are prepared for you. After you wear the kachu, you can pose like a samurai and enjoy being photographed. Of course, professional staff at the studio will help you wear the kachu, so you don’t need to worry about it.

If you wear a kachu and have a sword and a spear, you can fully experience the feeling of being a samurai from the Sengoku period (Age of Warring States)! Take this opportunity to pose and become a samurai!

The best part…your photographer will take more than 150 photos of you! You can make as many poses as you like! If you and another person do a shoot together, you can get creative and even have photos that seem like you are in combat!

Another option is the Shibuya Street Shooting Course. In this course, you will be photographed at streets in Shibuya while wearing a kachu!

Without a doubt, samurai who all of sudden appear in Shibuya, Tokyo’s hip and cool area, will stand out from the crowd! People passing by will come to talk to you or take your picture, so you will feel like you’re on top of the world! First, you will be photographed in two different, unique sets at the studio. Then, you will be photographed at the area between Dogenzaka Street and Shibuya Scramble Crossing.

That’s not all! All your photo data will be provided to you in an SD card (and often via AirDrop for your phone) which is extremely convenient! Isn’t it wonderful that you can select your favorite images?
