Mitsui Garden Hotel Nagoya PREMIER
Only 5 minutes from Nagoya Station via the underground passage, you’ll find the Mitsui Garden Hotel Nagoya PREMIER. The surrounding area is filled with luxury shopping streets, and several shopping malls like Meitetsu Department Store and Kintetsu Pass’e are within easy walking distance. It’s the perfect accommodation for travelers looking to enjoy a stylish shopping experience.
As soon as you step into the hotel lobby on the 18th floor, you’ll be captivated by a stunning golden cloud design. This art piece is inspired by a sunset adorned with golden clouds, perfectly reflecting the unique style of Nagoya while conveying the hotel’s theme of “Premier in the Sky”.
After check-in, guests can receive discount vouchers for LaLaport NAGOYA minato AQULS nearby, making your shopping trip even more exciting!
The elevator hall near the bath and spa area features artwork themed around a galaxy-filled night sky. The metal studs that resemble stars are all handcrafted, displaying different colors and beauty depending on the viewing angle.
In the bath and spa area, there’s also artwork symbolizing a sea of clouds, which changes colors throughout the day, creating a dreamy atmosphere. As you relax in the bath, it feels as if you’re surrounded by ever-changing clouds.
The guest rooms at Mitsui Garden Hotel Nagoya PREMIER are located between the 19th and 25th floors. This time, we stayed in a spacious twin bed junior suite.
The room, at a generous 60 square meters, features large floor-to-ceiling windows that bring in natural light and provide an open, airy feel, melting away all your travel fatigue. You can also enjoy a stunning view of Nagoya’s skyline, including the iconic Mode Gakuen Spiral Towers, right outside your window.
Many Japanese visitors also choose this hotel to celebrate special occasions or anniversaries. Enjoying a drink from The Living Room with SKY BAR on the 18th floor while admiring the Nagoya night view is incredibly romantic.
The bathroom amenities are salon-grade, and even include a ReFa professional hair dryer. You can also enjoy a view of Nagoya from the bathroom.
Waking up to the morning sun through the large windows, you can start your day feeling refreshed with a delicious cup of coffee made from the in-room capsule coffee machine, ready for a brand-new adventure!
The Living Room with SKY BAR: A Luxurious Breakfast
Fuel your day with a delicious breakfast served at The Living Room with SKY BAR on the 18th floor!
This breakfast experience truly captures the essence of Nagoya, exceeding all expectations. You can enjoy a “Choice of Main Course + Japanese and Western Half Buffet” featuring Nagoya specialties. Some of the main dishes include high-grade unagi (eel) with a limited number of servings.
In addition to a variety of fresh green vegetables, steamed vegetables, and organic salads with Italian-style dressings, this breakfast also offers something special – seasonal vegetable smoothies, providing guests with an easy way to boost their vitamin and mineral intake.
When you think of Nagoya’s specialty dishes, does unagi (eel) rice come to mind? At Mitsui Garden Hotel Nagoya PREMIER, you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat unagi rice breakfast! The piping hot unagi, cooked to perfection with its rich flavor and ideal texture, is sure to satisfy your cravings.
Beyond unagi rice, you can also try one of Nagoya’s most famous noodle dishes, kishimen! This comforting dish allows you to mix and match toppings based on your mood. The hotel suggests adding bonito flakes, green onions, crispy tempura bits, and steamed fish sauce for the ultimate combination.
Looking to maintain a smooth digestive system and glowing skin while traveling? The hotel offers LGG yogurt, known for its digestive and skin-moisturizing benefits. You can personalize it with honey or jam based on your preferences. And of course, the dessert options are equally impressive. Treat yourself to Ogura toast topped with red bean paste and whipped cream, or indulge in Uiro Mochi, a classic Nagoya sweet made from select rice flour, perfectly balanced in sweetness. These treats will definitely leave a lasting impression!

Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei
This time, I stayed at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei, conveniently located near popular spots like Hanamikoji Street, Shijo Kawaramachi, Nishiki Market, and Kyoto Tower. It’s a 7-minute walk from Shijo Station on the Karasuma Subway Line or Karasuma Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line.
Not only does this hotel maintain the high standards of the Mitsui Garden Hotel brand, but it has also been recognized in the Michelin Guide Kyoto・Osaka 2020 and received an Outstanding Design Award. Built on the former site of the Matsuzakaya Kyoto procurement store, the hotel preserves the atmosphere and materials of the original building, carefully blending Kyoto’s traditional aesthetics into both its exterior and interior.
Inside the hotel, there’s also the Former Matsuzakaya Kyoto Procurement Store / Dyeing and Weaving Museum, showcasing the hotel’s respect for history and tradition. The spacious garden within the hotel perfectly recreates a traditional Japanese landscape, creating a luxurious space filled with the charm of Japan. This harmonious blend of beauty and art is part of the Stay in the Garden concept.
The room key cards come in two colors, designating access to either the men’s or women’s bathhouses. The main bathhouse, Hana, located on the first floor, features calming tiles in deep tones, providing an instant sense of tranquility as soon as you step in. You can also enjoy a relaxing soak in the artificial carbonated springs while gazing at the greenery outside.
In the women’s bathhouse, the lounge and beauty area are furnished with sofas and Nishijin-ori cushions. The lockers are decorated with small, thoughtful touches from the hotel, like recommended local stores, so guests can relax and plan their next destination while resting.
The double room I stayed in was compact yet highly functional, with well-thought-out storage solutions and attention to detail. You can pick up a multilingual map in the lobby, and the room itself includes comprehensive information in both English and Japanese, a testament to Kyoto’s experience in welcoming international tourists.
The room layout is thoughtfully designed, with plenty of outlets near the desk and bed, and even a universal adapter is provided – an extra considerate touch.
The soft lighting filtering through the shoji (traditional Japanese paper) windows creates an authentic Japanese ambiance. The tea provided is the famous Ginkaku sencha, which you can enjoy while looking out over the quiet Kyoto streets in the morning – truly the perfect way to start the day.
A Must-Try Breakfast at Sanga Ono Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei!
The breakfast at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei is provided by Sanga Ono Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei, a sister restaurant to Sanga Ono Isshuan in Fukuoka, which has been recognized in the Michelin Guide.
Have you heard of “Hassun”? It’s a term used in Kaiseki cuisine, referring to food served on a plate about 24 cm in diameter, often in the role of an appetizer in a formal meal.
At Sanga Ono Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei, breakfast includes a special Hassun platter. Featuring a variety of exquisite dishes, like seasonal grilled fish, freshly fried handmade fish balls, fluffy seaweed-steamed egg, and sake lees soup with fried mochi, every bite of this luxurious Hassun makes you feel like staying here was the best decision!
Have you ever tasted rich broth made from simmered duck bones? Don’t miss the Bettei Oden, which includes ingredients like taro, mugwort gluten, and Kyoto-style fried tofu, all slowly simmered for over three hours in a duck-bone broth!
There’s also a wide variety of Western breakfast options like bread and ham. For dessert, you’ll find elegantly crafted sweets inspired by Kyoto, made from traditional Japanese ingredients. Think wasanbon sugar (refined sugar), soymilk, uruchi rice (non-glutinous rice), transformed into jellies, panna cotta, and moist, fluffy brownies.
Sanga Kura Market
Next to Sanga Ono Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei is the Sanga Kura Market, a shop converted from a warehouse. It offers a variety of carefully selected Kyoto souvenirs, seasonings, alcoholic beverages and sweets.
When you enjoy breakfast at Sanga Ono Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei, you’ll receive a gift voucher that can be redeemed at Sanga Kura Market. You can choose one item from a selection of four products: a small Japanese-patterned fabric pouch, cookies, coffee or ice pops.
*Note: Gifts are subject to change
We especially recommend redeeming the special coffee made in collaboration with the renowned Kyoto coffee shop blend kyoto or the fruity ice pops crafted by Sanga Ono. These delicious treats are exclusive to this location!
