Animal cafes continue to be a popular tourist attraction in Japan. In this feature, we introduce ‘ Temari no Ouchi ‘, a cat cafe that makes you feel like you’re in the forest.

The entrance feels like you’re entering into another world—almost like visiting Hobbiton! Open the door, take off your shoes, and inform the person at the counter how many people are visiting. You will then be handed a guidebook!

Experiences
There are cats everywhere! Even sitting on the menu cards!

The large windows create an atmosphere of warmth. Quiz: Can you count the number of cats in this picture?

Here, we have one chilling under the table-slightly perturbed by our presence 😀

Since the cats are given complete freedom of movement, we saw some climbing up to the warmth of the window.

The cats often seem ready for a selfie, almost as if they are too used to this!

Cat’s meal time
There is a fixed time to feed the cats, and its adorable to see them lined up.

And of course, post-meal comes the time to laze and go to sleep.

Wi-Fi is available in the cafe.

There are many cat cafes in Tokyo but we highly recommend visiting this one in the hip area of Kichijoji.

A Unique Cat Cafe
